Keep It G.A.N.G.S.T.A.
Its been out for a while... but I must show love for Nate Dogg's album "Music & Me". He's the west-coast gangsta-version of Curtis Mayfield. According to his official website he has appeared on albums that have sold 50 million copies. He started out in 1991 when he formed the group "213" with Snoop Dogg and Warren G.

A 4-star album according to AllMusic.com: "Music & Me is his first great album, an album on a par with his undeniable talent as a vocalist — nothing less than impressive; perhaps even peerless"

What's special about Nate Dogg? The Onion A.V. Club describes it well: "One crucial source of his success has been the striking contrast between the smooth, after-midnight seductiveness of his river-deep baritone and the casual misogyny of his thugged-out lyrics. Dogg's lyrics may be pimpish and misanthropic, but his voice makes even the crassest bit of sexism sound as romantic as the smoothest D'Angelo come-on."

1976 Magazine's favorite tracks off the album? "Backdoor", "I Pledge Allegiance" and "Your Wife".

DMC World DJ Championships...
...are taking place this weekend. Representing from Denmark is DJ Turkmaj Souljah - who was one the regular DJs at all the GAM3 events this summer. Sunday he'll be at the Brixton Academy in London. Best of luck! The DMC website will have the results in a few days...

GAM3 - what's up!
y0 - the team behind GAM3 (incl. myself) is looking forward. Right now we're seeking funding and sponsorships for more basketball frenzy in the summer of 2003. Bigger, faster, stronger - you ain't seen nuthin yet - and all that.

In the meanwhile, we'll introduce Indoor Streetbasketball in Copenhagen... look out for the details.

Finally - if you missed it, we have videoclips and pictures of the first GAM3 Finals, that took place on town hall square in Copenhagen - 10. august 2002. Check out the winners and all 27 slam dunks on our pretty website GAM3.dk. We had 3 main GAM3 Djs. DJ Noize (picture below), DJ Le Bon (from Sutrapumo) and DJ Turkman Souljah (who went on the win the Danish Mix Championships).

Spine Magazine
Good looking, magazine on the Internet (e-zines I think we used to call them). Anyways, the layout is nyyyze and very urban. The content is music and style, such as label profiles - what a goodie for a brand fanatic like myself ("mærkedyr" in Danish).

But hey, don't take my word for it! Read the profile of Staple - a new sublevel straight outta New York. Hey, wait till they get a GAM3 profile...

Paullelujah!
Talented geek rapper, MC Paul Barman (who works closely with Prince Paul who produced all of De La Soul's early, hippie albums) is set to release his first full-length in October 2002. Its all set to be an asset for New York hipsters and wannabees. His website has been re-worked recently, so I recommend that you check out the crazy universe of MC Paul Barman (Barkman?)

Writers Blog
Just wanted to remind myself to check this blog-enhancing site, Lights.com/Weblogs, when I have time.

The Neptunes aka N*E*R*D
Has produced an entire album with rap group Clipse. "Grindin" is awesome (click link to listen in RealOne), but I still have to check most of the rest out. Here's what the sources say:

"The fact that the Neptunes are responsible for the entire production of every track on this album will have some people running to the stores to pick this up, and others running for the hills"Hip-Hop Elements

CAGE
Another favorite, Cage is has his debut-album on the streets. He's been on the scene for 4-5 years though, starting everything off with the amazing 12" single that Necro-produced tracks "Radiohead" and "Agent Orange" . "What Cage has done with this album is deliver EXACTLY what was expected of him" (Hip-Hop Elements). Sounds good to me.
