I'm Not A Player
The market online computer games a.k.a. Massive Multiplayer Games, such as Everquest and Sims Online, is massive (doh!). Analyst and marketing company The Themis Group predicts that revenues will exceed $635 million in 2003. As the number of broadband connections increases, MMGs will be even more popular. In Korea alone there are 100 MMGs and Korea has the world highest penetration of broadband connections. Interestingly, there is no retail market since everything gets copied anyway. Instead developers base their income on partnerships with portals and ISPs. Read more.
